Fair
Claraboia’s presentation at ART.PE 2026 brings together artists from different generations and at distinct stages of their careers, whose practices engage with relationships between memory, the body, matter, landscape, and experience. These diverse practices emerge from particular contexts and repertoires, finding in the booth a space for encounter—not through an attempt to establish a common ground, but through the possibility of observing how each artist articulates, transforms, and displaces individual and collective experiences, giving rise to different ways of constructing images and narratives of the present. Bringing together artists already represented by the gallery and others with whom Claraboia has been developing new dialogues, the presentation brings into proximity distinct languages, geographies, and perspectives whose friction reveals the complexity of contemporary artistic production in Brazil.
The presence of artists from all five regions of the country is central to this proposition. Ana Sant’Anna, Hugo Sá, and Mandú bring perspectives directly connected to Brazil’s Northeast, in dialogue with Bernardo Liu, Gabriel Roemer, Isadora Almeida, Paula Juchem, Paulo Agi, Renato Rios, Samara Paiva, and Vicente Baltar. Bringing these artists together expands the project’s field of vision beyond a single geographic axis, placing different experiences of formation, belonging, and displacement into circulation, while making visible the territorial breadth that runs through the gallery’s program.
This movement finds a particularly meaningful context in Recife. Since its opening, Claraboia has maintained a close engagement with artistic production from Brazil’s North and Northeast. Rather than a regional framework, this perspective reflects a commitment to following artists and practices that can expand ways of understanding the present and establish new relationships within the field of art. In this sense, the gallery’s participation in ArtPE continues a perspective that has been part of its foundation: creating conditions for artists at significant moments in their careers to encounter new interlocutors, contexts, and possibilities for circulation. The booth thus takes shape as a shifting constellation, where different practices come together to imagine, from their own distinct positions, other ways of thinking about the present.
