Prelúdio ao Fulgor is organized around different modes of relating to brightness—not as spectacle, but as a quality that permeates matter and shapes modes of sensibility.

Across the works, radiance is not homogeneous. It appears at distinct scales: at times minimal, almost domestic, like the small gleams that flicker across surfaces and evoke the delicacy of porcelain and trinkets; at others, as an impulse of growth, a kind of formal photosynthesis in which matter seems to orient itself toward light, as in a silent dance turned toward the sun.

There is also a luminosity that builds in layers—unstable, shifting—that emerges from the very skin of the works, as if light were not cast upon them, but emanating from within. And, in another register, a broader field opens up: a consciousness that displaces the gaze beyond the terrestrial scale, suggesting an attunement between matter, energy, and an astral dimension.

In the paintings, brightness does not always present itself immediately. It flickers, withdraws, and reappears as a near-presence—a suspended image that seems to form and unform at once. There is a spectral quality to this apparition, in which light does not fully reveal, but holds the gaze in a state of suspension, as if seeing were also a way of engaging with what never fully settles.

Conceived as a prelude, this grouping shifts brightness from the realm of evidence to that of imminence. The works operate within this interval—a moment before form stabilizes—where light does not fully assert itself, but instead organizes into signs, residues, and processes of emergence.

The project brings together works by Bel Ysoh, Bernardo Liu, Gabriel Roemer, Loren Minzú, and Renato Rios.
